Hm, that was unexpected.

Let me explain. Along our way to Rhia, we ran across what seemed to be a carriage of merchants that had fallen to some misfortune. Sawyer and I figured it would be prudent to assist those in need, but upon reaching them, we realized something was terribly amiss. They weren't merchants...

...they were bandits.

One of them had drawn an axe on Sawyer, and thus I rushed to his aid. Diplomatic negotiations with these bandits failed, and we had no choice but to defend ourselves. I've never had the chance to participate in actual combat before, much less actually had to kill someone...It's a depressing thought. I knew this day would come eventually, I had been preparing for it all of my life...but until you experience it firsthand, you can never really know what it feels like.

We managed to dispatch our aggressors without too much difficulty, although my form could have been better. Maybe then I wouldn't have gotten injured. Oh, don't worry about it though, it was just a scratch, and sir Alex was kind enough to hand me a vulnerary after the battle.

Rhia shouldn't be too far away from here, let's just hope we don't run into any more bandits.
